What's your definition of recruit? My definiton of recruit is the coach telling me he put me on his list to admissions, and that he would love for me to be a part of his program next year.

gpa is going to hurt you. but your sats arent bad, the fact that you are cuban is probbaly gonna help you too. i would say you have a decent shot

ok marauder -
that is actually not what my definition of recruit would be. i know that school's coaches have an option on a certain number of kids - thats how duke gets an ill b ball team. its the same with this

I don't understand what you mean? Every school is different with their recruiting. Duke has slots, NYU doesn't. No coach at NYU can simply get any kid into the school. This is not the case at Duke, or even Harvard. Most D1 programs have slots built in, NYU and most D3 schools do not.

Where do you get your information on any of this jjjjj? I get it deirectly from the coach.

oh come on. the duke average sat is like 300 points higher than the basketball team - you are going to tell me they dont get in because they own at bball?

Thats exactly what I'm saying. At Duke, Stanford, Harvard, most D1 schools the coaches can simply get anyone in. This is not true at D3 schools like NYU. At most D3 schools the coaches have a list that they submit to admissions with their recruits on it. These people then have an advantage in admission, but it is not carte blanche. This is how it works at NYU. I thought I explained it pretty well in my last post, I guess not.
