CAS Foreign Lanuage Required?

I've taken Spanish for three years in high school, and on the Syracuse website it says if you have taken a foreign language for three years or more in High School you don't have to take a foreign language while in CAS?

I would really prefer to take something else besides a foreign language in College, and I'm not very good at it either. Will I have to take a foreign language while I am at CAS at Syracuse, or will I not have to since I took three years in high school?

Do all CAS majors have to take a foreign language?

Anyone know?

I’m not 100% sure, but I think you must either fulfill the the language requirement or the quantitative skills requirement.

I took 4 years of Spanish and 2 of Latin. I took one term of French for Fall and am looking at two more (I’m a freshman).
So er I’m pretty sure you still need to fill the quantantative or foreign lang. req. But I guess that’s a good question for admissions?

I’m an economics major in CAS and I opted to fulfill the Quantitative requirements (math classes). So everyone who said that you can chose quantitative skills classes is correct.

It is my understanding that the only school at Syracuse that has a foreign language requirement (either by placing out by test or by taking two semesters on campus etc) is Newhouse…

House of London would know best re: CAS

Rodney, correct.

Single Enrollment:

Alright, so as a Biology major in CAS I won’t be forced to take a foreign language to graduate?
