CAS students take Stern and Steinhardt classes?

Hey CC'ers

I'm deciding whether to apply to NYU stern or CAS. I am into the liberal arts, but also the social sciences and if I get into CAS, I would maybe like to minor in studio art or buisness. How easy is it for CAS students to take Stern and Steinhardt classes? Is there a selection process based on grades and scores, or is it open? Do CAS students who want to stern minor usually get to do so?

And btw.. how are my scores and grades in comparison to stern applicants?

SAT: 740M, 710W, 680CR
SAT2: 790Phys 760MathIIC 660 lit
IB Predicted (school has no GPA): 42/45 inc 3 bonus points, level 6 in Higher Level Maths
IGCSE: 6A*, 3A, 1B

To what extent are EC's, essas, recs, etc important for stern applicants?

Argh help guys. I’m afraid that if I apply for CAS, I’ll under-apply my potential. But then if I apply for stern, I’ll sacrifice more electives space even though a it’ll be better for a career.
