CC Inviting a Cornell College Rep

Normally, our College Reps find us rather than vice-versa, but we've taken the step of inviting Cornell to have someone post here so there is first-hand info available for our members. The decision makers were tied up when we contacted them, and we're waiting to hear back. We'll keep you posted. Best wishes to all Cornell ED (and RD!) applicants.

Very fine action and attitude. I feel confident there is plenty of angst to go around.

Yay! Thank you!!

"On Monday, December 12, 2005, a former Cornell University applicant posted a web link on www.collegeconfidential.com providing last year’s URL to the Cornell University admissions web site’s application status system.

By using this link and providing their unique identifications and passwords, a small number of current Early Decision applicants were able to view information about their own applications; this information was not intended to be viewed until December 15.

At no time, however, were students able to access information about applications other than their own.

The integrity of the admissions web site has not been compromised, and therefore, no action will be taken against these students.

Early Decision applicants will still be able to access decision information through the Cornell application status system on December 15 at 5:00 p.m. EST.

Please use our troubleshooting feedback form to report any problems with this self service system.

This web site is for the use of Cornell University applicants only. Unauthorized use is prohibited."

I am glad that we were away at the gym while all this was going on. The stress is enough without this additional burden. I feel bad for the people that found out, prematurely, bad news or found out good news that was compromised by worry over this. It took away your chance to feel joyful. It sounds like Cornell is being their usual amazing selves over this issue. I will find ways to help my daughter stay occupied until her decision is available. Hope it's a good one.

Ah so that's how it worked.
