Has anybody had any trouble trying to transfer online credits earned from a CC to a University? I'm gonna be taking an online level 200 Management class in the Fall at my CC. I was browsing some Universities (can't recall which one) the other day, and I swear that one of them stated they don't accept credits from online courses. So yeah, has ANY institution given you a hard time for transferring credits from an online course?

I know Smith and Mount Holyoke said they don’t. However, a rep from MHC acknowledged that since many transcripts don’t discern between online and in class, there’s little way of knowing unless the student specifies they are online courses. It does seem to be more of a liberal arts college thing, they’d also not accept or accept on a case-by-case basis courses in management which LACs consider preprofessional. I stayed away from online courses because of this (plus I’m more of a lecture kind of person). But this varies greatly so I would look at the requirements from the schools you’re considering…

I’ve seen some schools say that they require the printout from the Registrar that shows where/ how you took the course. That form will say something like “Brown Hall 201” or “Online”. Most transcripts themselves don’t indicate online or classroom, so unless the school specifically asks for something additionally, they won’t know.
