When I visited Wellesley during the SOC, I found that a majority of the people's cell phones were not getting service on campus. It was apparent that only one company worked, but alas I have forgotten which company it is. Does anyone here know which cell phone company I need to switch to in order to get sevice there? Thank you!

verizon works well at wellesley and throughout the boston area. i've never had any problems.

I've had both Cingular and Verizon at Wellesley, both seemed to work fine.

T-Mobile doesn't work at Wellesley.

I think there may be one company that worked on the path near the child study center.

I had Verizon all four years with no problems. One first-year roommate had Sprint, but she couldn't use her phone because she didn't get reception anywhere except Tower. We lived in Dower. No good. (A friend who lived in Claflin and had Sprint thought it worked quite adequately. Then again, she lived on the fifth floor with a clear view of any and all towers within range.) My other roommate had Cingular/AT&T our senior year and liked it very much.

Verizon has been a very reliable company, for me, but make sure whichever company you choose has equally good service in your home area. If you plan to talk to friends and family a lot, it's usually best to be on the same network for all the free in-network minutes.

I would say a good hunk of people have Verizon, which is good because calling their Colorado/Texax/Massachusetts phone doesn't make a difference. The free Verizon to Verizon thing is priceless. Otherwise I would be screwed for can gabbing all summer. :P
