I did below average on some events.
Basketball Throw - 57
Pull ups - 9
Shuttle Run - 9.91
Sit-ups - 93
Push Ups - 75
1 mile - 7.50

Thats like exactly the scores I had except my shuttle run was 10.00 exact and my pull ups were 11 and I recieved a LOA. They are good scores especially since you maxed out the push ups and almost situps.

upatel...i saw u on the coke threads...LOA for the academy...seems like you got everything i wanted that I couldnt! it seems the navy and peanut allergies dont agree

thank you upatel. So is it safe to submit it?

yea submit it because I was scared first then I asked my BGo and she said there awesome. Good job and good luck.

hey JaradW,

I have gone through a lot you can get all the stuff. But for the the peanut allergies cant you get it waivered?

Thank you again Upatel, I will submit it.

But, don't you think my mile time is bad?

Hey buddy.. your scores are fine.

The mile run is not max speed, but it's not so terrible. It's nothing you need to worry about, and most likely would not a thing the board would be most concerned about, either.

If you're so perplexed about the situation, re-run your mile and try for a better time.

Anyway, for a high school student it's not bad. I had to try a bit harder since I'm enlisted and every little thing counts, (to me, anyway) but you shouldn't have too many problems with it. And anyway, you would still be within the minimum time limit (at least) allotted for the 1.5 mile run on the PFA, and not like every Midshipman is a pro track runner.

tuazee, I'm assuming that you are applying for this year's class. If that's true, I would advise that you turn in your CFA scores now. Your run score isn't great, but your other scores are good.

BTW, you would do well to really improve your running before I-day. To barely pass on the run part of the PRT, you need (as a guy) a time of no more than 10:30 for a 1.5 mile run, so you need to eventually get below 7 min/mile. Keep in mind that you'll do lots of running during Plebe Summer, but everything is easier if you're in really good shape when you arrive.

tuazee- send your scores in- if you do take the CFA again you can always update them.

on the mile try to run increasingly faster quarter mile splits. I ran a 7:00 mile at NASS (partly cuz i was out of shape and sprinted off too fast). I retook the cfa before christmas and started out at a brisk jog and finished with a hard sprint, not only do you build momentum but it gives you less time to think about your body hurting. I got in shape and did this and 6 months later I run a 5:47

Yea the mile is fine and I think that what I had too, so you are perfectly fine dude. Don't worry the CFA scores are good.

after I submit all of my application, how long does it take for the rejected/accepted letter to come in?

I believe admission boards are held near the end of month, but I cannot remember for sure anymore. It might take some time

Will it take less than a month for me to see the result?

I don't know man.. it all depends. I submitted mine a while ago.. and this Thursday it's gonna be a month since the board convened.. and still no letter. I'm becoming very angry at this.

There are many factors that determine how long it takes from when you submit your application to when you hear the admissions decision. Time of the year, how strong your whole person score is, and even whether every candidate on your MOCs slate has completed THEIR application, can all cause the process to take longer. Quite a few people won't hear anything until March or even early April.

Just keep in mind, every day you don't get "the thin envelope," means you're still in the running.

actually, they meet weekly-
and that will bump up to twice-weekly soon.
hang in.
the wheels turn slowly, but they are turning!

Thanks for the correction! Good luck!

I guess I might have a long wait to go...

Here is another question, do they consider if you know how to speak several "minority" type languages (minor languages in America)?

(Minority language: Carolinian, Chamorro, Chinese, French, Hawaiian, Japanese, Korean, Samoan, Spanish, Tagalog, Vietnamese)
