Alright, now that I have your attention...

White male, a junior from a competitive area in New England, one of those frigid places near Canada where it snows often and hard. Well into the top income bracket but not enough to turn any heads in the development office. Out of a class of 200, my school sends about a dozen kids to Ivy's and other elite universities (MIT, etc.).

BASICS

GPA (unweighted): 3.88 overall, 3.98 from sophmore and juniors years. I am proud to say that I once was an unashamed slacker during freshman year and that a piece of me always will be. I have also taken the toughest courses possible and am ranked roughly in the top 5%. At most, one person in my graduating class has a 4.0, to put my grades in a broader perspective.

SAT: 2400 (single sitting score)
SAT II's: 800 on World History, 770 Math IIC, 700 Physics.

AP's: 5 on World History, English, US History. 4 on Physics

EC's

-Editor-in-chief of a creative writing publication for all four years
-Co-Director of a prominent writing tutoring program at my school
-I'm an officer in MUN and Speech Debate
-I also belong to several additional honors societies, clubs etc. that I don't hold officer positions in

-For four years, I've been on my school's Varsity wrestling team. I have been All-County and All-Conference, but I'm not nearly good enough to wrestle in college.

-If it counts for anything, I get my swell on regularly at the gym. I wrote my CommonApp EC essay about it and was very pleased with the way it turned out.

AWARDS

-National Silver Medal in Humor, Scholastic Writing Awards. 100,000 entires are submitted and 1,139 National Awards are given, so I'm pretty proud of this one.
-Gold Key Winner (highest regional honor) in an unrelated category of the Scholastic Writing Awards.
-3rd place in my category in a national writing contest sponsored by a university for a creative essay I wrote discussing perspectives on American culture
-Finalist in an international fiction writing competition. I won't go into too many details here because it woud identify me too easily...but participants hailed from multiple continents and all age-groups and I came close to winning it all
-NCTE Achievement Award
-Numerous local writing awards

-I got a state award in history for an original, intepretive paper I wrote on a certain aspect of American intellectual history. Primary-source driven.
-National Spanish Exam Silver Medalist

-An award from my school's Social Studies Dept. given to one junior a year for achievement and dedication in history and the social sciences
-Won a school math contest, much to the chagrin of the math/science "specialty" people
-A local award in physics

-Waiting to hear on the Intel STS (submitted paper in psychology) and Presidential Scholar in the Arts.

-Also some kind of AP scholar and NMSF

Summers

-Went to Boys' State, elected to county-level positions and admitted to Boys' State Bar
-Received scholarship from school for summer acitivities. In my case, this was traveling throughout Southeast Asia.

Rec's/Essays

I assume they're good, but we really can't judge these for ourselves.

~The end~

What do you think my chances are at Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Duke, and Stanford? I might submit a creative supplement to HYP, although Stanford and Duke don't accept them so I can't do anything on that end. Be as candid as possible! Thanks in advance for your time.
