Chance a cookie cutter asian, please? :)

Hi guy! I really appreciate you all taking the time for this. I wanted to get some of your opinions. I don't really think I can chance back accurately because I really have no idea.

I'm an upper middle class asian female. I think that hurts my chances alot, right? :(
I attend a small sized public school (~1,200 kids) , and there really seems to be a history of people-not-making-it-into-ivies.

SAT: 2400
GPA: 4.0 unweighted, my school does not weigh. I'm pretty sure I'm in the top 5% of my class, and I know I'm one of only three people to have a 4.0 and have taken all the AP classes
APs: 8 so far, including Calculus BC and a few I self studied like Chinese: all 5's except for one 4 (Chem), I'm planning on taking 13

SAT II:
bio: 780
Math IIC: 800
US history: 790
Lit: 800

Extracurriculars:
500+ community service hours
Girl Scout Gold Award (equivalent of an Boy Scouts Eagle Award)
First degree black belt
Summer job @ the city hall for 3 years
Edison Challenge second place (a science award)
I'm very involved in a local nonprofit, and organized the installation of 16 solar panels at my local elementary school: there are a few articles about it on the local and county newspaper
I play at my local orchestra (flute) and plan to send in a musical supplement- nothing too big
I have strong leadership in a political debate club called JSA: I'm elected LTG, which there's only one of in an entire state, and is in charge of ~1,500 members. The past like, 6 years of LTGs are all currently attending a HYPS school
Member of NHS and CSF for all my years of high school
Head of my school's Key Club
Attended a weeklong political symposium at UCLA
I'm traveling to India (New Delhi) this summer to work at an orphanage of children whose mothers have been injured because of domestic abuse for a few weeks.
Last summer I traveled back to rural China (Tianjin) to teach English to grade schoolers for three weeks.
I've studied at a weeklong program at the USC Wrigley Catalina Marine Institute (it was a prize for a science competition)
I've been a member of the Varsity Tennis team since freshman year: sadly no leadership/team captain there
I have two classes/six credits of online college courses in political science (my intended major).
Trilingual (French/English/Chinese)
Mock Trial and leading role: three years

Is this enough to get me into Stanford? Harvard? Princeton? Cornell?

bumpity bump

Everything looks great :]. Now it’s more about the subjective factors like your essay, how you organize and present yourself through ECs, and whether the college you’re looking at happens to be in demand of someone with your interests. Good luck!

Thank you!

Yes. Everything is basically perfect, and better than the middle class asian from my school who got into every college he applied too and wll be attending Harvard.
he got into dartmouth upenn umich uchicago northwestern stanford swathmore cornell brown yale…he took 10 APs and got all 5s. had an unweighted 4.0

The thing with my school is that many people who you would think can get into a top Ivy don’t: out of 1200 kids this year, only one kid got into Stanford and one kid got into Cornell, and that’s it. Same with last year: one Yale admit, and the rest were all pretty much UC’s and Tier two privates. We haven’t had a Harvard acceptance in years.

You definitely have the scores. Now you make me nervous since I’m applying to the same schools!
Your EC’s look decent relative to your goal schools.
SAT couldn’t be better, super well-rounded SAT II’s. I’m sure you could easily get a 750+ in Chinese/French as well since you are trilingual.

If you don’t make it, I definitely don’t have a shot :)

Chance me: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/963572-chance-average-asian.html

bumpity bump

Uh oh…That 4 on your Chem AP and 790 on the US History SAT might reflect badly. ;)

I’m completely kidding. You have one of the most impressive resumes that I’ve seen. I suppose I’m not the most qualified person to chance you, but it seems to me that unless you bomb your essays, there isn’t a university that you don’t have a great shot at. Of course with colleges of this caliber, nobody can be guaranteed to get in. I’m just surprised that you even had enough to make this thread. :p

+

I think you are fine.

^second that

Awesome… just awesome. Your leadership ability+ academic standing put you into the top of the applicant pool, although the fact that your Asian might take some of the luster out of your resume(but not by much). Can’t really get much better… statewide leadership, 4.0 U.W and a 2400…geez =X.

woww your stats are definitely amazing, great test scores, great gpa, lots of APs.Your leadership role in JSG definitely makes you stand out from the crowd, it should help really you get into a top school (if the past 6 LGTs have made it to HYPS, i think you will too). Other than that, it seems like you’ve had plenty of quality volunteering and leadership roles…I’m pretty sure you’ll make it to at leassttt one HYPS school =)

Well you have as good of a chance as your going to get.
I have a hard time believing that everyone at your school is as qualified for HYPS as you are.

^Something in my subconsciousness assures me she’s legit :). She probably don’t waste her time posting on this website like we do, that’s why ;]

I made an account a while back ago because I thought it would be a good place to get some info, but I got kinda bored of it and I just didn’t log on for a really long time, until I became a junior and started obsessing, that’s all ^^

I’m not really qualified to give an opinion that actually means anything, but I think everything looks amazing! I think you definitely have a great chance at the top colleges. And the fact that someone thought that you’re a ■■■■■ just supports my opinion. I personally don’t think you’re a ■■■■■ because, well, like xrCalico23 said, no one who has a life would actually type all that out for nothing. :)
