Can't say much about essays, but I've revised them hundreds of times and wrote about how I use music as a way of expression (I sent them a DVD) and another essay was about raising money to pay for a family member's surgery.

Side Note:
- My GPA took a HUGE hit in November when my grandmother passed and I had to go to China for nearly a month.

Chance me at:
CUNY Honors at Queens (ED)
Umich (EA)
Pomona
Columbia
Cornell
Carnegie Mellon
NYU (Arts and Sciences)
Fordham
Stony Brook
St. John's (Queens)

Just bumping it up. Hopefully someone will see it.

CUNY Honors at Queens (ED) - Macaulay? Perhaps, or maybe not, somewhere you should specify why your GPA took a plummeting . . .or if you get an interview, explain then.

Umich (EA) - match

Pomona- Need the break down on the SAT, also a reach probably

Columbia- Reach- again GPA . .

Cornell- Reach

Carnegie Mellon- Reach as well

NYU (Arts and Sciences)- Match

Fordham- In (but they are highly selective for some ODD reason, but you should get in)

Stony Brook- IN

St. John’s (Queens)- IN IN IN IN IN IN IN IN IN IN IN IN!

I don’t know, for the Reaches, they can be high or low, mainly because of your GPA!!! I think Carnegie Mellon is a bit forgiving on the GPA . . . but it is low regardless. You gotta let the schools know under additional information, that would be a good idea - as to why your GPA is a bit lower than usual. For many of the reaches, I would need to know your break down on the SAT

I think you should bet into all but Carnegie, Cornell, and Columbia. Michigan is a match, NYU is maybe low reach. you should get into the others.

chance me back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/609067-chance-me-if-you-want-idk.html

Thanks!! Yes, Macaulay Honors at Queens is my first choice.

SAT Breakdown:
CR: 660
Math: 750
Writing: 780

Thanks for any additional info.

Macaulay is a really good chance, and overall you do have a CHANCE at all those schools, just less chance at some than others. But in all, if your essay, resume and whatnot are above par, you could even get into all of them!!
The Macaulay essays are precise, nice and short, and extremely important! Make sure you get them reviewed by some teacher or counselor.

By the way -
Columbia is all about selling yourself to the school. . . the more interest you show aka kiss ass and explain what you have to offer to this “splendid institution”.

Basically after 1400 - for Cornell and Columbia you gotta show a lot of interest and sell yourself to the school.

Thanks for the chances!! And anyone else wanna take a shot?

great music, you’re really talented

HAHA thank you
