Chance a High GPA and Low ACT for Vandy, Wake, SMU, Tulane, W&M, etc.

Just wondering what I should be expecting and whether these schools are even in my range. Don't hold back, I want honesty!

Applying to (my opinion of high reach to safety):
-Vanderbilt University (ED)
-Wake Forest University (RD-doesn’t need standardized test scores)
-College of William and Mary (RD)
-Tulane University (EA)
-Southern Methodist University (EA)
-University of Miami (EA)
-Saint Louis University (Rolling)
-University of Dayton (EA)

Stats:
-White female at small, private school
-GPA: 4.0/4.0 UW
-Rank: 1/83
-ACT: 28
-1 AP offered and the rest are dual-enrollment college credit (taken 8 total)

Extracurriculars:
-Student Government (Executive Board)
-Varsity Tennis
-Varsity Swimming (Rookie of the Year, MVP, 110%, captain)
-Chief Editor of Newspaper
-NHS
-2 Summer Service Trips to Honduras + 100 additional service hours
-Attended 6 week summer program at Vanderbilt
-Various other activities and service

Other:
-2 Teacher Recs (one solid and one good)
-Vanderbilt Professor Rec (solid)
-Swim Coach Rec (solid)
-School Counselor Rec (solid)
-Legacy at SMU

Vanderbilt and William Mary may be a stretch with a 28. Of course your EC’s and Rec’s are good but pretty much anyone can have that. Try to get higher ACT.

Who has made you feel as though your ACT score is low? I knew the people on these boards were a bit insane, but wow… A 28 is actually a very high score considering the average score is a 21. I would love a 28. A 28 is a VERY good score!

28 is a great score. But weighing a 28 on the scales with other Vanderbilt applicants it will come out on the low side.
