Chance a high SAT, low gpa-er for UCs...

2400sat single sitting, first time, 0 qs missed (no brag)
3.64 weighted capped uc gpa
8 aps taken, five 5s three 4s
Actual uc gpa probably higher due to 3 As in Ucla summer courses
received supplement from ucsd
extracurrics- lacking, volunteering, couple sports, music, a couple clubs, nothing major

some possibly extenuating family circumstances explained in personal statements and supplements

sat 2s- 800 math 2, 760 ush, 750 lit

Also chances for Chicago plz, legacy, 3.69 w gpa,
thx

here’s the kicker (as if my gpa weren’t already)
Midyear grades horrible
Barely over a 3.0 weighted

no. the only thing stands out is your 2400 SAT. it is not enough to compensate.

Well my uc gpa is most likely significantly higher than 3.64 with an extra 3 As included
not to mention that I took the hardest workload possible

Nat’l ap scholar
Nat’l merit semi
pres scholar candidate

UCR, UCSC, UCM: Match
UCI, UCSB, UCD: Low Reach
UCSD, UCLA, UCB: Reach

so a 4.3 w uc gpa and 2400 makes them reaches

i think OP is asking for chance of University of Chicago not University of California.

Nah bothhhhhh

fyi, I don’t think I have a chance at many private schools due to mid year grades
but I was told my Berkeley chances were not so dismal…

bumps
1oxghd

Your ECs and UC GPA are weak so I have to agree with letjustin. University of Chicago is a high reach.

Is a 4.3 weak though
I think Ucla nod Berkeley look at uncapped
so that would help me since I took lots of aps/ honors

So you said you have a 3.64 weighed UC GPA in the first post, then a 4.3 UC GPA in later posts? I assume it was a typo in the first post.

If you have a 4.3 weighed and a 3.64 unweighed GPA,
Cal, LA - high matches
SD - low match
All other UCs - safeties
UChic - reach

In your first post, you said you have a 3.64 w UC GPA and 3.69 w GPA. So which is it 4.3 or 3.64?

there there
I’ve taken 3 college courses at ucla and got As
these will factor into my gpa

idk would 4.3 be a good guess
don’t know how the UCs will calculate
they will, for sure, incorporate them into my gpa however

???
10charrr

Stop being so defensive. The other posters are right; your gpa is low and your lack of significant extracurriculars will make the schools higher up on your list (UChicago, UCB) reaches

This guy may be a ■■■■■. I dont usually say it, but he says he got 2400 on the SAT, but then claims 3 A’s will bring a weighed GPA (of at least eight classes already) from 3.64 to 4.3?

Anyone who doesn’t know that kind of math would have a hard time getting 400 on the math section.

ok hold on let me calculate
I assure u I’m not a ■■■■■

Ok my bad more like 3.7 weighted capped
The cap is at 4 classes right
I guess I was just thinking there’d be more weight since I had taken uc classes
my bad
I g
