Bump…aside from Wharton, at which school do I have a great chance for acceptance if I applied ED/EA?

I think if you apply Wharton ED, you cannot apply to anywhere else.

But you should consider Chicago if you do not apply to Wharton ED (chicago is EA so you can also apply to other places that are not ED or REA)

Yep, I knew that. I intended to mean which school I should apply to ED/EA if I decide against Wharton.

Why do you recommend Chicago in particular? I’ve heard great things about its economics program but also that it’s a very tight environment.

I’d say HMC, Amherst, Rice or Swat. You must apply to Berkeley during November and I think you’ll get in there.

Agree with hmom5. Small LACs are unfortunately overlooked by many Asian applicants, to their detriment. As a result, your chances for admission are higher there than at Ivy-level schools. Rice is also an underrated school. Side note: Rice’s baseball team is top-notch.

For most biracial kids (Asian mother, white father), I recommend not checking any box under race. However, it will eventually become clear once they check your mother’s legacy status and review you application materials (Chinese school, etc.). At Penn, legacy may trump your anti-hook in this case, especially given double legacy and board status.

Good luck to you during your college search!

Yep, I’m aware that Rice’s baseball team, as well as Stanford’s, are both top-notch, which is why I have no chance at being recruited for baseball there. But do believe me, I would be happy to go to Rice.

The problem with most small LACs is that on a whole, I simply prefer bigger schools. They’re a more conducive environment for me, whereas at smaller schools, I think that I’ll have the feeling of being too closely-knit with my class. Don’t get me wrong; I am still interested in some smaller schools, but on a whole I would rather be amongst a larger class.

I’ll say this again… ED or bust!

Thanks once again, but what about my prospects at the other schools I mentioned?
