bump for response

I am only going to talk generally, and about upenn. You’re strong academically, and you have some interesting ECs, but nothing very eye popping in my opinion. Of course, if you’re a good writer, you could have pretty good chance.

Question: How are you a national AP scholar with that amount of APs, or have you not listed them all?

sorry. ap scholar with distinction. thanks.
im not the greatest writer but i can get my point across well
im banking on both my research projects to help me a bit. my other ecs are kinda typical for the students applying to the schools i am.
my school sends approx 20 kids each year to ivys/ivy caliber schools(williams/amherst/stanford/mit etc)

Yeah, your research stuff should be very good! Write about those.

Don’t bank on your school history, may make it harder for you if previous seniors rejected offers from schools. I’m homeschooled, so i don’t have class rank etc… :/

Im sending both as supplements

Yea im not emphasizing it but its really well known. Graduating class is generally 150 ppl. Two years ago, we sent 8 to penn. last year we sent only 2. so this year should be good. (those that didnt get into penn got into places like brown/columbia/stanford/washu etc)

well good! But penn may not like that your school is rejecting its offers, and thus reject you. There is chance of that.

For some reason I cant edit but Im applying wharton ed and mit/uchicago ea

I’m thinking about looking at Wharton… Idk though.

Everything seems relatively well-rounded but there is nothing about your application that is impressive enough for Wharton.

Have you considered retaking the SAT to bring up the critical reading section?

I’m not quite sure what you mean by top 10% is that like 5% or 9%… 3.9 not going to cut it for these schools.

Penn(Wharton) - high reach
MIT - very very high reach
Brown - high reach
Columbia - reach
NYU Stern - low reach
Umich Ross - match unless preadmit then mid reach
Uchicago - low reach
Northwestern - low reach
GW - in

People that can’t chance themselves / don’t know much about college admissions shouldn’t be chancing other people since the advice they give will most likely be as stupid / misinformed as this quote.

Thanks
IDK how to calculate GPA unweighted but I’ve had straight A’s throughout high school except for 2 B+s, 1 in AP US History and 1 in English 9th grade

Our school doesnt rank but we have a cum laude society and thats the top 10% and im in it

Looks good to me
A few things:
Lots of leadership EC!
SATs are pretty good too
Most are reach schools for everyone though…

bump

10 char

Penn(Wharton)–Low Reach
MIT–Reach
Brown–Reach
Columbia–Reach
NYU Stern–Low Reach (because it’s Stern…competitive)
Umich Ross–High Match
Uchicago–High Match/Low Reach, but they’re unpredictable at times
Northwestern–Low Reach
GW–In

Your scores are solid, GPA is solid, ECs are solid, but nothing STANDS OUT. Everything is where it’s supposed to be, but there’s nothing that goes above and beyond the norm, especially at the Ivies.

Chance back please?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1004999-duke-ed-will-chance-back.html

Also,
I forgot to add I’ve been tutoring 4 hours a week for the past two years as work experience
and
Language:
I understand:
English, Hindi, Gujurati, Marathi
I speak: ENglish Hindi Gujurati
I read/write: English, Gujurati, Hindi, Latin, Ancient Greek (I can do a little bit)

and I co-managed a portfolio that has had returns of 200%+ in this economy

Wharton, MIT, Brown, and Columbia are reaches. You need to raise your SAT score to be a stronger candidate.

Penn(Wharton) - high reach
MIT - high reach
Brown - high reach
Columbia - high reach
NYU Stern - low reach
Umich Ross - match
Uchicago - slight reach
Northwestern - probably in
GW - definitely in

Best of luck!

Chance me back?
