Colleges:

Dartmouth (ED) - Not happening, I know. But still, its my 'dream' school.
Middlebury - ^same minus the dream school.
Hamilton
University of South Carolina
College of Wooster
Providence College
Fordham
Wisconsin, Madison
Oregon

Aid Requirement: Nearly full, if possible.

BUMP!!!
Please chance!

You’re right, Dartmouth is not happening. Rethink using your ED there.

There is nothing unusual about junior year being the toughest. So colleges are looking to see what happens to your performance as things get harder. A significant drop junior year, relative to that of your class, will make a top school very tough to get into. Add in the scores which are well below median for Dartmouth and Midd, and they are enormous reaches.

The rest of your list looks fine, but not for someone looking for a lot of aid. What state are you from?

“Teaching slum children”? I hope you get someone more politically sensitive to go over your essay – and your book!

@LoremIpsum: Thankfully, neither my book nor my essay deals with a ‘politically conflicted’ topic.
I’d really appreciate chances, though.

Bump, anyone more productive?

Dartmouth isn’t happening.

The title made me laugh.

Not sure about others, but Fordham doesn’t claim to meet full need.

I’d say your chances of getting into Middlebury are the same as your chances of getting into Dartmouth, but you’ll never know unless you apply.

Improve your SAT I by a total of 200 and your chances will improve alot when applying to Dartmouth :)

I’ll bet OP’s application fee that he doesn’t get in, unless OP has omitted some key details about a super-hook or something. OP, you really ought to reconsider Dartmouth ED IMO.

“Aid Requirement: Nearly full, if possible.”

You said on another thread you were an International?
You are in a very difficult position then for FA.

SLUMOM - Yeah, I’m an international.
But isn’t Dartmouth need blind for internationals as well.

And SwedishChris, what about a 31 on the ACT?
That’s like in the median for Dartmouth, right?

Internationals face much tougher entrance requirements than domestic candidates – you often have to be one of the very best students in your entire country or even region. Any college that has need-blind aid for internationals will very likely only accept the best 3-4% (so forget about median scores) and the other schools may well be happy to take you, but only as a full-paying student.
