I’m looking at
- University of Edinburgh
- University of St. Andrews
- University of Aberdeen
- Glasgow University
Applying to something economics/finance related.
I have a 2090 SAT 650R 750M 690W
I know they only consider ECs that are related to your major and that you write about in your essay. I’m attending a global entrepreneurs program at a university this summer so I was planning on writing about that.
I already got a 4 on human geo freshman year
Got a 3 on World history soph year (won’t send it)
I have 4 more AP tests to take this year and I’m taking two subject tests this year.
I’m definitely taking the Math 2 subject test and I’m fairly confident I can get a 750 on it. Chances?
Oh forgot to mention my UW GPA is a 3.4 with very rigorous classes. Edinburgh doesn’t look at this but the others do
You don’t need chances: as an International student, if you meet the requirements and have a decent rec & PS you are likely to get an offer at all of these (there are a few specific courses that are harder to get into). The requirements are all posted on their websites, so it’s easy to figure out whether you meet them or not.
Really? That’s awesome news. Thanks @collegemom3717
happy to help. Just be sure to cross-check the subject you are applying to study for any specific required subjects. For example, Econ almost always wants maths. Also make sure that at least some of your tests match by type - that is, if you are applying for a humanities subject have a humanities test (and for your own sake an essay-based AP is a good idea); if you are applying for a science subject have some science.
For your PS, of course use your summer experience but link it to what you have done before and how it has shaped your thinking about the field, all as part of demonstrating that you have some understanding of the subject that you are intending to study and that you are well suited to the subject.
