senior chinese male who lives in state
my gpa is 3.5 uw and 3.8 w
clubs:CSF, interact, students run LA, amnesty international and chinese club
i have been on the volleyball team for 3 years
i am deciding to apply as an environmental engineer
senior classes:
english 4
Govt/econ
volleyball
physics ap
APES
Calc BC ap

my test scores are low.. i will be retaking the SAT(subject tests included) and ACT
my sat score is around 1620 and my subject tests are 650 for Math2 and 600 for USH and my act is 24 which are all low

i only took 2 Ap classes previously(Calc AB:4, APUSH:3)

I'm deciding to apply to UCR, UCI, UCSD CSULB, poly, san obispo

my dad went to CSULB, so i'm sure that i will be able to get in there, i don't know about the other schools.

If you raise the SAT significantly (2000+), it could offset your lower GPA and give you a chance at UC Irvine, or, if you raise it even higher than that, at UCSD.

You have good chances at UCR, and you’re in at CSULB.

As you can see, his stats are actually low for UCI and especially UCSD. Admissions to UCs gets tougher every year, especially with the budget cuts and over-enrollment.

The scores I was saying were just to be safe – of course you could have a chance with a 1900 but it would be significantly lower.

Would staying in volleyball help me get into the other colleges? I’ve been thinking about dropping it. So many seniors I know are taking 5 classes next year D:
