Chance an in-stater!

Alexandre, math is 33 so far! I’ve been getting perfect on my practice tests lately, so hopefully I can do that come June.

Kdog, you’re correct - it starts with a B. Which R were you thinking of? Roch…? Or Roy…?

@liv4physicz I was thinking Roch but not surprised my first thought was correct. Either way, good luck next year. My D is a sophomore there now and my S is deciding between U-M and NU unless he gets off the waitlist at Yale or Brown.

Northwestern!? Ahhh I’d kill to be in his position. They’re both my dream schools.

Yeah, he is pretty excited. He is heading to Evanston tomorrow for Wildcat Days and then to Yale later in the week to tour their campus. While most of his classmates are in Cancun or some other wild spot for spring break he will be touring campuses. Unless he has a miserable time during WD I believe he will be turning down U-M. I also think that having his sister already at U-M might be the reason he wants to blaze his own trail elsewhere. I do love U-M so I am a little biased but they are both excellent academic institutions so he can’t choose wrong IMHO.

Exactly! Are you still in-state for U of M? My only issue is the price difference in tuition. NU would be $30,000 more each year for me even if I get in.

@liv4physicz, yes we are in state for U-M but their merit aid was pathetic for his 4.0 UW GPA and 35 ACT score. Overall, NU offered a higher percentage of the COA than U-M. It’s still more expensive but not a significant difference due to our low EFC.

Apparently U of M rarely gives much, if any, merit-based aid. That’s great that your son got accepted to such great schools though, and waitlisted at two Ivies, no less!
