You might think my EC list is just a laundry list. But I think they’re pretty concentrated on music. I wrote about how strongly music has influenced me on my essay.

That’s funny… I applied ED to CIT and my common app essay was about music.
My stats are about the same as yours and I got in. I think that you have a pretty good chance. Good luck! :)

Thank you! anyone else?

your stats look pretty good, but I was wondering - you said about 2 people go to ivies from your school annually, and 3-4 “decent” schools. Assuming that CIT would fall under the category of “decent” schools, do you not think that your class rank of 31st puts you at quite a distance from the competition?

I really have no idea, because everything looks good, including GPA. I was just wondering.

Well the thing is, even the smartest kids at my school often goes to local state school with scholarships. So, you get the idea. Haha.

Anyone else?

From what I see, everything looks pretty solid. Good GPA, scores, ECs and from what you say, essays and recs. I think your ECs are strong enough to distinguish yourself from the competition.

Out of curiosity, when you say you’re applying to CIT, is there a certain type of engineering you’re looking to do? I don’t see much math/science ECs or classes…

I want to become a chemical engineer. I’ve been interested in it only recently after having the summer internship.
I should’ve had more ECs related to math and science, indeed. :[
