I'm fluent (speak, read & write) in Chinese, Japanese, Spanish and Taiwanese. I can also understand some French and Latin.
Still, my ECs seem insufficient, and I'm afraid the absence of freshmen grade will affenct me badly.
I will be majoring in the biological field, but I'm not sure specifically which subfield yet. I had originally planned to become a pre-med & then doctor, but learning that it requires at least 12 years of study scared me...
There are LOTS of people that post fake scores just for fun, but I'm seriously asking for advices.
I'll be the first generation that'd be going to college, so I'm overwhelmed with all the requirements to get into a prestigious college...Please tell me honestly about my possible reaches, matches and , if any, safeties.
I greately appreciate your help!

forgot to add:

SAT: 1850 MATH: 660 READING: 600 WRITING: 590
(I WILL definitely retake it)

what would be my etnicity?

Taiwanese-Argentenian would be your ethnicity.

You get your SATs up to around 2100, and you'll have a great chance at top colleges.

Based on your current GPA, test scores, and ECs:

Harvard - Big reach
UC Berkeley - Match (in state)
Stanford - Big reach
UC Los Angeles - Reach
UC Irvine - Low Match
Cornell - Big reach
UC San Diego - Low Match
Princeton - Big reach
John Hopkins - Big reach
Duke - Big reach
Rice - Big reach

Your GPA is impressive and so are your multi-lingual abilities (a possible hook?), but your SATs really undercut you. As Heavenwood said, you've got to get your SATs up, though considering the very selective schools you want to apply to, you probably need to get them above 2200, and even then your chances at the top schools would probably run no more than 10 to 20%. As repeated numerous times on this board, Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, Duke, Rice, etc. are reaches for almost everybody, including kids with 4.0 GPAs and 2300+ SATs.

I think your best bet is to find some less selective schools that have good bio and/or pre-med programs. Apply to 4 or 5 of those. Also apply to a couple of your reach-dream schools understanding that you probably will not get accepted, and apply to a couple of safeties just in case.

Unfortunately you will be put in the Asian pool which is the most competitive. Note, schools are not impressed with high SAT scores in your native language. Work hard to get your SAT I score to 2200 for a reasonable chance at top schools. You should be a good candidate for a tier below with present scores, especially look at schools in the South and MW that don't get as many Asian applicants.

Just check off "hispanic" and you have a huge boost in your chances.

^^ HA HA
(Chinese argentinian eh? Will you go out with me?)

do I know you? :P

um that is quite difficult to say. I think you have a 'alright' chance at all of them, but dont worry alot

Amptron2x thanks for your detailed review!!
Thank you all for the feedback!

I''ll now just focus on the AP tests, and on boosting SAT scores. I might be taking the ocober one as the last chance to do well.

Does anyone else predict otherwise or know other good colleges in the biological field?

pikaso:

Assuming you are a California resident,
UCB/UCLA: Reach
UCSD: Slight Reach
UCI: Match

flopsy:
thanks for the response.
would it help if I raise my SAT scores?

Yes you MUST raise your SAT score to get into those schools. A strong SAT score (2200+) will get you into UCLA UCI UCSD. To get into the other schools you need more ECs.

Your ethnicity isn't Argentinian, because that would suggest racial or cultural ties. You said both your parents are Taiwanese, and therefore your ethinicity is Asian, though your NATIONALITY might be Argentinian.
