I was recently rejected by UC Davis, but I was planning on appealing their decision.

My GPA at the time of application was 3.68 UC GPA, but I had recieved a D in AP Physics in the first semester of my junior year, and retook the class the first semester of this past senior year. Therefore through academic renewal, it should be up to 3.86.

I applied for the Biological Sciences major (which may have been a major reason for my rejection)

My grades have similarly improved, as I have been taking 4 AP classes in addition to retaking Physics, and my GPA was a 4.4 during the 1st semester of this year, and I currently have a 4.8 GPA now, with all A’s. I know it may be late, but is there a chance for appeal based on significant improvement in academic achievement?

My SAT score was 2130, I’m Captain of both the Cross Country and Track Teams, and have been on the varsity teams for the past 3 years, leading our team to a 13th place finish at the CA XC State Meet in 2012.

I have taken 5 honors classes so far, AP European History and Pre-Calculus Honors my sophomore year, AP English 3, AP Calculus AB, and AP Physics my junior year. This past year, I elected to take on 4 AP classes + AP Physics, which are AP English 4, AP Calculus BC, AP US Government&Politics, and AP Environmental Science.

I am planning on getting several letters of recommendation from my teachers, one from the physics teacher who I recieved the deficient grade in which i later made up, one from my cross country/track coach, one from my APES teacher, and one from my gov teacher this year. I hope this, in addition to uploading a copy of my transcript will be sufficient for the office of admissions.

So what are my chances for appeal?
