Chance for Geneseo? Or other good school you think I could get into? I'll Chance Back

I'm in my junior year, in New York, I have a 3.6 unweighted, I took one AP my Sophomore year ( AP World, Got a 4 and a 90 in the class) and I'm taking 3 this year ( LIT, Spanish Lang. got a 100 on Spanish Regents last year, and APUSH). In 9th and aside from AP World in 10th grade, I took honors which was obviously the highest you could go in those grades aside from World. So thats 4 AP's before senior year, I will probably take 2 or 3 next year.

I took the advanced science track so Earth Science 8th grade, Bio 9th, Chem 10th

I am a member of Amnesty International Club

I am President of our Environmental Club, I was Vice President last year

I am Vice President of a youth owned and operated organization in our town that does volunteer work in our town and aims to get the youth involved in the town so I have 500+ hours of community service already from that.

Obviously I haven't taken my SAT's yet but I'm going to assume they will be above average.

I really don't have that good an idea where I could go with these grades and extra curriculars, I know living in NY, that Geneseo is a pretty good school, do you think I could get in. And also while you're at it, what other good schools do you think I would have a legitimate chance of getting in? Thanks in advance

Bump, Bump

No… It’s not going to happen… Sorry. Hmm… I am not sure about other SUNY schools, but Geneseo, Buffalo, and Stony Brooke probably won’t happen for you. Those schools, especially Buffalo, are too selective for what you get out of them for undergrad. The richest person in China, Robin Li, went to SUNY Buffalo for graduate school, not for undergrad. I would look into other four year schools in the area. Buffalo State College is not too far from Geneseo, boast a more cosmopolitan atmosphere, and is far less selective.

Edit: Robin Li, as of one month ago, is now the second richest person in China.

I think you can get in to geneseo assuming your SAT scores are 2000+. You should also look at binghamton. The rest completely depend on what you are interested in.

Ignore idc. He has no clue what he’s talking about. Buffalo and stony brooke are below safeties, and if u get above 1900 your in a geneseo

chance me http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1222766-chance-me-northwestern-cornell-ed-will-chance-back.html

Ummm, kind of mixed answers lol but regardless, thanks everyone!

I think you can get into Geneseo! Good luck!

Average accepted gpa for geneseo was 3.7. Bing was 3.6. Average SATout of 1600 was about 1250-1300 for both. So unless you know your SAT an accurate prediction can’t be given. “Average” score for SAT out 2400 across the country is 1500. If that’s what you mean by average, you have no chance.

Oops sorry, I thought you said your SAT’s will be average, not above average. Still, above average is a 900 point window so accurate chances still can’t be gven

Hey! I’m a current geneseo freshman and I had 1350 on my SATs, a 3.5 GPA (but as a result was near in the bottom 50% of my class? why, I’ll never know…) and took about as many APs as you have/will. I was waitlisted but was persistent and by the grace of G-d and the admissions office (who I know work for!) was let it. I’ve never been happier! don’t let my experience scare you - I got my 3.5 by getting very inconsistent grades, a consistent 3.6 and a 1300+ sat score should secure you entry. if you need any advice, you can e-mail at my smw20@geneseo.edu. I went through the whole process and can usually be objective, except when it comes to Bing vs. Geneseo - no comparison in quality of life! Good luck, its a tough process but once you know, embrace it and you’ll have a wonderful college experience and adult life, no matter where you are!

Thats really comforting haha ^^^^ thanks everybody for responding,
