Assuming my essays are good, what are my chances?

shamefulbump

Really good actually, although it might look bad you were treasurer during sophomore year but then stopped junior and senior. I don’t know about Duke, but I think you’ll get into most and most of them have financial aid although it ticks me off how people use “Under 20000 income” as a hook

@RChandler‌
Let’s be honest, under 20k should be a big hook. That 20k a year was probably less than the price of one of your parents cars. I’d like to see you living in a household where minimum wage is made. This guy has taken 20 AP classes and received a 4.0 in a poor environment. Your ignorance is astonishing.

Your GPA and scores despite your economic conditions are incredible. Kudos to you. Send your ACT, not SAT. You’re a competitive applicant at each school. Even though UPenn, Berkley, and Columbia are natural reaches, you have a great chance at all of them.
Chance back?

@Oberyn‌ I’m not saying that its not a hook. I agree that its great but I just said it slightly ticked me off that he was allowed to use that. If I was in his situation I would say that too. I’m just mad that even if I was able to maintain a 4.0 and 20 APs like him, I would be penalized for my parents making more. I do still believe he deserves it and that he should definitely write under 20k in his application but can’t I be mad? Is it wrong for me to be slightly ticked off? But it’s nice how you can judge my ignorance from one offhand comment less than a 100 words long.
