Chance for Johns Hopkins, Tufts, or Harvard?

I am a Korean male and go to a highly competitive private school

Academics

Weighted GPA: 4.19

SAT: 1560 (hoping to get 1600 on the March test)

AP: Psychology, US History, Biology

Future AP: Calc AB, Stats, Euro, US Government, Latin, Chem

Will take SAT Subjects: Math Level 2, US History, and Biology M and E

Extracurriculars

Work: CPO at a tech company that daily gets 1,000 plus views

Sports: Four years of varsity tennis (predicted) with one state championship

Music: 2nd place violist at all state, Concermaster of high school, first viola of high school, and multiple performances with a professional orchestra, proficiency in piano, violin, guitar, and voice

Volunteer work: Building up Cambodian churches and homes in slums, mission trips, volunteering at refugee Christmas parties and concerts, playing music and helping out at elderly homes, regular volunteering at food bank, and acting as an assistant to a dental clinic providing care for the under privileged. I have also a charity in the works in order to provide musical instruments for under privileged children of my city.

School extracurriculars: MUN Chair, attended multiple MUN conferences, Head of design for Robotics (state finalist), Latin Club, and National Latin Honor Society

Summer Activities: Phillips Exeter Summer, Mission trip, homeless shelter, and elderly home volunteering

Schools I am interested in: Johns Hopkins (number one), Tufts, Rice, Boston College, UT Honors, and Harvard (unlikely but I can dream)

Intended Major: Psychology on a premed track and possibly a major in music performance

Hi! Here’s my opinion
Tufts: Pretty good chance. You have a good SAT score, I don’t really understand why you would take it again.
JH: High reach.
Harvard: probably rejected (sorry im being super honest). You really don’t stand out that much. Your ECs are pretty typical of other asian boys, and I guess unless you have really good essays and really good luck, Harvard will not most likely accept you.

Taking the SAT a second time will make you look desperate. Adcoms will consider that a negative.

Honestly, I think you are pretty likely to get into Tufts and Hopkins. I’m not sure about Harvard, as I don’t have much expereince there. But honestly, college admissions are so unpredictable right now. I’d say that your GPA is good, and your SAT is good, but like squash0107 said, you need more outstanding extracurriculars. My advice is for you to get some very good recommendations. I think that will really help you stand out. Good luck!
