I am a rising senior and will be applying to UT-Austin this year. I am looking to apply to the Liberal Arts Honors College as well as the Liberal Arts College. (I am an ECON/GOV major.) What would be my chances of acceptance at these colleges?

GPA:
UW-3.85
W-4.35
ACT:33
SAT:2070 (1460)
Class Rank: 10/235
EC: Eagle Scout, MENSA, Special Olympics Coordinator, Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, etc.
Also I will be applying as a freshman, but will be transferring 89 credit hours because of Dual-Credit Work.

Assuming by your username that you’re in-state, you have automatic acceptance to the university based on your class rank. As far as getting into the College of Liberal Arts, it’s one of the easier schools at UT to get into; there should be no reason why you’d be rejected from it or Liberal Arts Honors.

I think it curious that you would ask about being admitted. Surely you know that the state schools are required to automatically admit students in a certain rank percentage?

Your use of Liberal Arts Honor College and LAC is interesting-- with Liberal Arts Honor College, are you referring to LAH, and with LAC, and you referring to… Plan II, or just the college itself?

(And lisiatc-- admissions to honors programs are definitely not based on auto-admit, which may be different.)

I want to be admitted into the Honors program at UT as well as the LAC for my Masters degree in Econ. Through the college I can earn my Masters in 10 months so that’s what I’m aiming for.
