[] SAT I (breakdown):2240 (720CR, 800M, 720W)
[] ACT:35C (35E, 36M, 33R, 35S, 6W lol)
[] SAT II:800 Math II, 760 USH, 760 Chem
[] Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 4.0
[] Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable):1 out of 430 something (My school doesn't weight GPAs so about 40 of us are tied for 1st. If there was weighted GPA, I'd be first though.)
[] AP (place score in parenthesis): Freshman Year: BC Calc (5) Sophomore Year: Chemistry (5), USH (5), Statistics (5), Biology (4) Junior Year: US Gov (5), Comparative Gov (5), Physics C Mechanics (5), Chinese (5)

From 6th to 8th grade, I did Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Math Analysis (combination of Trig and Pre-Calculus)

Freshman Year Schedule:
CP (college prep) English I
CP World History
AP BC Calc (2 hours a day)
CP Chemistry
Debate
Swimming

Sophomore Year Schedule: (this year was hell)
CP English II
APUSH
AP Stats
AP Biology
AP Chemistry
Film as Literature (One Fine Arts credit, need two to graduate)
Swimming

Junior Year Schedule:
Aegis English III (Basically AP but you have to apply and be selected for the class, both AP English tests are taken at the end of Senior Year)
AP US Gov
AP Comp Gov
AP Physics C
Calculus III at local university
Oklahoma History (required for graduation)
Fundamentals of Media (fine arts credit, required)
Tested out of Chinese 1, and 2 to fulfill foreign language credits

[li] Senior Year Course Load: [/li]AP Euro
AP Psych
APES (Everyone says this is an easy AP, but it's my last science AP class at my school... I've run out as you all can tell. And taking a science class at my local university wouldn't work because the required lab is 4 hours, once a week, which would cut into high school)
Calculus 4 at local university
Aegis English IV (it's not recognized as AP because you have to apply and be selected for it. It's basically the top writers in my grade. We take both AP English tests at the end of Senior Year).

Does my Senior Year schedule look easy compared to my previous years' schedules? I tried to take the hardest classes possible this year...

[] Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): NMSF (projected, way above last year's cut), National AP Scholar
[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Swimming (easily my most important one. 9 years, Senior Athlete Representative for Oklahoma Swimming, delegate to the USA Swimming National Convention, hopefully captain of my high school swim team, 2x State Champion in medley relay, 100 breaststroke school record holder, medley relay school record holder. However, I am not good enough to be recruited by HYP or any other Ivy Leagues)
Piano (12 years, qualified for finalist for State Senior Auditions, Honorable Mention at the State Senior Auditions (basically 2nd place), church pianist)
Senior Class Treasurer for my high school
Youth City Council (similar to the actual City Council that adults sit on, only a select few high school students city wide are on it)
Medical Explorer's Post (President, we explore different areas of medicine and listen to speakers, we also volunteer on the stretcher team during our local university's football games)
Chinese Youth Academy (Co-President)
Mu Alpha Theta
National Honor Society
Academic Team, qualified and participated in the NAQT National Competition
Math Team
Guys and Girls interested in Engineering and Mathematics (Press Secretary) I don't want to be an engineer, but I want to keep my options open.

I submitted a paper for the Siemen's Competition last year but did not win anything. This year I am planning to submit another project.
I've also published a newspaper article.

[] Job/Work Experience: None, I don't have time lol
[] Volunteer/Community service: World Changers (80 hours, with my church, went to various places in the US and helped repair homes for people who couldn't afford it), Research in a Lab at the local university (100+ hours, all post grad level studies), Local Hospital Volunteering (30 hours), Stretcher Team during football games for my local university (40 hours)
NOTE: All of these were done only in the past summer minus the stretcher team (which was done during only the past football season, and minus 40 hours of World Changers (which was done the summer before). I have a lot of other volunteer hours from Freshman to Junior Year.
[li] Summer Activities: World Changers (see above), swimming 4 hours a day, research (see above), volunteering at hospital (see above)
[/li]

[li] Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): None
[/li]

Wow, that took forever, and I probably left out some things. Anyways, the colleges I want to apply to are:
Harvard (probably EA)
Yale
Princeton
Duke
Stanford
UC Berkeley
Johns Hopkins
WUSTL
Michigan (safety, dad is an alumni, so I guess I'm a legacy)
Brown (PLME)
Columbia
Penn
OU (safety, I would get a full ride)

Thanks in advance!

Why no MIT?
You have a great chance at Duke, Columbia, Penn, but the HYP schools are a crap shoot.
SAT should be a bit higher though :/.

Oh, I forgot to put MIT. Whoops haha…
Yeah, I’m going to take the SAT again. Except it’ll be my 4th time. Which won’t look good at all. But I agree, it needs to be higher.
Also, I was thinking about just sending my ACT score instead of my SAT score, since it’s comparatively higher. But the problem is, my writing score is 6 :frowning:
Thank you though!

LOL thats weird because I’m going to take my sat again for the 4th time also, and my score is similar to yours.
And so I guess you’re my competition ;D, but you one uped me on your ECs. Good luck!

I would not take it again. Many schools ask for all scores and they do not want to see repeated attempts. These are great scores … go with them. The Yale admissions rep made a joke out of people re-taking after getting scores like this… a negative in their eyes.

Thanks and you too da6462!
@Murphy
Really? Well actually, my single sitting score is 2200… And my super is 2240…
I just want to feel confident about my scores. And I’ll only send SAT scores to colleges that have score choice. I know Yale doesn’t, so I’ll probably just send ACT scores there.
It doesn’t help that I’m Asian, so I need higher test scores.

I know for a fact MIT doesn’t care. They’ll take super score and score choice; they actually want you to have the best chance possible.

and for Murphy600, as long as there is an upward trend no one really cares. The joke was all that, a joke; no one takes it seriously. If you TRULY think you can get 2300+, then I’d say go for it.

How the heck did you get a 4 in biology???

I think this is close to as good as it gets, of course HYP are a crapshoot but w/ your grades, your schedule, your ECs you have a strong chance of getting in.
As for the SATs, I don’t know, I’ve decided not to take them again (it’s been 3 times), but I have 2290, it’s just my writing score that won’t go up (8 on the essay every time), so I guess it’s your choice really.
I’m just annoyed that you’re my competition, because you definitely beat me (I’m probably applying Harvard EA as well).
Good luck!

Sent from my SCH-I400 using CC

Yeah that’s the only thing. And I’m pretty sure I will, since I took it at the beginning of junior year last time.

I got a 4 in biology because I was overwhelmed sophomore year. I had a 0 hour (got up at 6:30) and went to bed at 12 or 1 every night because of all my school work plus swim practice and weights. But after that experience I’ve learned to manage my time better. I’m sure if I could redo sophomore year with my current time management skills, I’d get a 5 on Bio.

@Frosh2013
Yeah same here for some reason. My W score is always an 8 on the SAT. If I had gotten at least a 10, my writing score would be a 790.
Oh, I doubt that, but goodluck to you as well!

haha thanks!
chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1383779-chances-harvard-scea-yale-other-top-schools.html#post14783715

Bump

Can I get some more feedback from anyone else? As in what are some weaknesses that I’m overlooking.
