I am planning on applying to UC Davis, UC San Diego, UC Irvine, and UC Santa Barbara. I live in-state. I'll keep this concise and to the point to make it easy for you guys.

Stats:
UC GPA - 3.73
SAT - 1970 (670CR, 620M, 680W) (planning retake, expecting 2050+)
APs - Biology (3), Psychology (4), Lang&Comp (4), Calculus AB, Literature, Physics C.
Class Rank: N/A

Other Details:
-2 years Key Club
-2 years CSF (California Scholarship Federation)
-200+ service hours (with church, scouts, Key Club, etc)
-Played boys volleyball for 2 years
-Attend seminary for my church every morning before school for 4 years
-Extreme academic improvement, went from 1.8GPA freshman year to 4.3GPA final semester of Junior year. Was failing Algebra 1 freshman year and now, as a senior, I'm doing well in AP Calculus.
-Overcame near-sightedness that went undiagnosed until mid-sophomore year (couldn't see the board in most classes), ADD that wasn't treated until sophomore year, and moderately-severe bilateral hearing loss (about 50%). Once my vision and ADD were treated, my academic performance shot up.

Personal Statements:
I write pretty well and have a unique, interesting style using a lot of imagery and concision with vocabulary so I think my personal statements have turned out well.
-First one is a story about how my sister lost (basically killed) my hamster when I was 8, and how now in hindsight, it was an insignificant experience that led to me developing a strong forgiving characteristic (I learned to forgive my sister).
-Second one talks about how my older brother and younger sister's disabilities (schizophrenia and developmentally disabled, respectively) sparked my interest in neuropsychology and biochemistry.

Thank you for reading! If you want me to chance back, let me know and I'll check out your thread!
