Chance me and I will love you forever

OK–As long as I have remembered, I have been extremely ambitious (see the username), and I have come from a family full of big shots. Sisters went to BU, Harvard, brother went to McGill. I am pretty smart guy, and I have started a lot of things, but my grades are not perfect. I am currently a male, Jewish, Israeli-American sophomore in a ridiculously competitive private Waldorf School in LI, NY. This school is no joke, and in a class of 25, usually sends half to top 40 schools. I really need insight if as of now I am good enough, and what I could do in the future to get into a top school (my dream is UPenn, Georgetown, GW,…).
Here are my general stats and expectations:
My sophomore year has been OK, I have maintained an overall average of 93 (top 3,4 in class). Unfortunately, my freshman year average was horrible (B+ average due to terrible math and science) and I am afraid it will keep me out of college. Our school doesn’t have AP’s (the courses are supposed to be “just as hard if not harder”), and I am among the best in my class of 28 people. Please tell me if I have a chance because I am really new to this stuff!

Other Factors: Interview would be my best thing actually.

Anyway thanks! I want to go to schools that offer good political programs, and I already know thats what I want to pursue. I love politics, and I live and breathe it. Do I have a chance at BU
I would really appreciate it!

I predict that you will get in, and maybe with a nice merit scholarship on top.

Look, you’re editing this to appear in a bunch of forums and I hope you’re intelligent enough to realize that you’d get into a bunch of those schools.

Speaking aloud, what exactly is the point of these chance me posts? I can understand some: do I need to consider a safety versus this school or should I bother? But most seem purely anxiety driven or unrealistic, as in a kid asking if he or she is going to get into Yale when no one can answer that question these days with any certainty so all the answers are guesses.

lol nice catch.
I will admit, I am a bit nervous.
I just am so unsure about everything that it leads to stress. I am working on it lol.

Yeah, you’ll get into BU.

I’d say that you’ll definitely get in. I also second the potential merit aid too. You should definitely apply to BU. It wasn’t my number one school by far originally, but I’m soooooo happy that I chose to apply. Now, I am beyond excited for college and can’t imagine myself in any other situation. It just worked out perfectly. So, I’m all for applying at a bunch of schools that could fit you well.
