Hmm… you’re a tough spot, because even Texas residents in the top 25% have a ridiculously hard chance of getting into UT, even with near perfect SAT scores.

ECs are good, but your SAT essay score suggests you’re an average writer at best by UT standards, and the two essays count for 43% of your personal achievement–all of the four years of extracurriculars are only 57%.

The SAT score at UT is the best from one test date. The average OOS admit has been around 1300 for many years, so around a 1950. That means you need about a 200 point bump in your SAT score to be at the average level. Half of all admits, however, are under this average.

Not being in the top 25% is a tough sell–get the GPA up as high as you possibly can next year, even if it means taking a few less rigorous classes to do so, if UT is your ultimate goal. Your rank needs to be as high as possible if you want to get in OOS.
