Chance me, and quick question about the SAT

Hello! I live in Southern California, and I’m interested in the Civil Engineering Major. I was wondering what my chances for UC Davis, UC Irvine, Cal Poly Pomona, and San Luis Obispo. If these are no good, I’m fine with going to Mt. San Antonio and attempt to transfer. I really just want to get into any UC lol. I’m a girl, but I’m Vietnamese :frowning:

CSU GPA: 3.3 UW 3.64 W

SAT: 620 English 660 Math (1280 in total) 6/5/6 Essay

AP: Human Geo 5 Biology 3 English 3

EC: In clubs, but no leadership positions.

I hope to improve my SAT score. If I were to take the test in October, would the score be available to put on my application? I think I saw that December was the limit, but I’m not sure what’s going to happen.

Also! My mom is pushing me to check out Optometry. I’m not sure what a person would major in and what schools would be good for leading to that. Any help?

Thanks so much!!

Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.40-3.79:

UCB: 2%
UCLA: 3%
UCSD: 6%
UCD: 15%
UCSB: 14%
UCI: 13%
UCSC: 59%
UCR: 78%
UCM: 92%

Only Cal Poly Pomona looks like a realistic Match based on your GPA and test scores. You might want to consider Cal State Fullerton, Sac State, Cal State Northridge.

Bumping up your test scores will help and possibly open up a few more choices such as Long Beach and San Jose State, but a lower than average GPA is the issue.

SLO: Reach (average GPA 4.16 and SAT of 1467)
UCI: Reach (average GPA 4.10 and SAT 1300)
UCD: Reach (average GPA 4.10 and SAT 1320).

Going to a CC and transferring via TAG would be a good option.

Best of Luck.

i agree, not many of the schools on your list are likely to accept you. I’d add a few most Cal States - maybe SDSU and CSULB.
