And any advice you have is greatly appreciated, too. Thanks so much!

Well your GPA and SAT scores are great, but you dont have alot of leadership roles. Therefore Columbia, Georgetown, and Brown are going to be a unlikely reaches. And WashU and JHU will be reaches as well. But good luck!

I would say your GPA is average (3.75?? that’s lower than you think if you want to get into elite schools.)

Your SAT definitely could use improvement. You want something around 2100-2200 to be on par for some of the schools you’re applying to.

I was in the IB program as well and writing “I did CAS” will not get you crap. Your CAS idea should be brilliant and shock the hell out of any college counselor. Start a project of your own.

GPA and SAT are great? Not for Brown! I’m not seeing ivy here.

The GPA and SAT are a bit on the low side. Your activities also seem really bland. If you are interested in the sciences, you should be doing a few more science related ECs. Definitely bring up your SAT score to atleast mid 2200s.

What about the paper? Is it theory, or original experimentation? Will you be seeking publication?

Try to get 2250 or higher on the SAT. I hate to sound like a hypocrite but raise your GPA definitely- if it’s possible, go for at least a 3.9.

I don’t think your odds for Brown are good. A 2030 and 3.75 UW could be compensated for with great ECs and excellent essays + recs, but while your ECs are by no means bad, I don’t think they scream, “Make me the exception!” if you know what I mean. Same goes for Columbia. I think GT, Hopkins and WUSTL are very reasonable reaches for you, though. If you get the SAT score up and get straight A’s first semester senior year, I figure you’ll get into at least one of them.
