Hi! I'm a junior in High school in Louisiana. I want to major in Neuroscience/
Neurology sciences. I want to apply for a plethora of schools: Carnegie Mellon,
Cornell, Texas A&M, NYU, Duke, UPEnn, Uchicago. Can you all chance me?

Other college choices are: University of Indiana, UT Austin, Ohio State, William&Mary, John Hopkins...

High school:
My unweighted GPA is 3.6
ACT: 26
AP's: Will be taking the tests in May. By senior year ill have 5 AP classes:
French V, VI, English III, IV, World History

Extracurricular activities (weak, I know):
- National Honors Society
- English National Honors Society
- French Club (president)
- 16 hrs a week I work at a restaurant
- Captain of showcase soccer team
- HOSA

** Dual enrolling for Calculus and Chem II at a college next year
** Will be volunteering during the summer
** Was born in Ivory Coast, lived in France and Burkina Faso, now here...so multicultural if that matters.

I know I'm aiming high and these are a lot of colleges but what are my chances? or what can I do to improve them?

C’mon guys… Anything?

sorry to break it to ya like this, but those are all far reaches (the first list) :(, I mean your GPA and ACT are well below admission stats, and your ECs are cookie-cutter :(

Wow, absolutely none of them? How about the second list?

Also Carnegie Mellon is my dream school

Your ACT score/GPA is too low for most of the colleges on your list (you can look up a college’s ACT score distribution). From your current list, you don’t seem to have a safety college at all.

I’m not saying you don’t have a chance at all–everyone has a chance–but I think that you’re applying to too many extremely selective schools that aren’t likely to come through for you. Apply to a few, sure, but look for other colleges too.

I’d recommend trying to raise your ACT to at least a 30.

I will be retaking the ACT soon and hopefully will try to get a 28-30 score.

Does anyone know if neuroscience is competitive at CMU?

By the way, remover chat, my safety is LSU. Sorry about that

How about this… Can you guys name some state colleges that you think I could manage to get into?
