Chance me? CSU schools

Out of state transfer with AS degree
Intended major(s): Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry [any work]
GPA: 3.2 will be higher
EC’s: PTK member, many leadership positions in Alpha Phi Omega

Preferred schools: CSULB, CSULA [though willing to consider any CSU]

Thanks!

Are you aware that California has very minimal and limited aid for OOS students? The Cal States will cost you $36k per year. Can you afford those fees?

Long Beach is the most popular CSU and receives over 70k applications per year. Your GPA is not competitive for Long Beach, especially in those majors. CSULA may be doable. Since you are OOS, some of your credits may not transfer.

Try Bakersfield, Channel Islands, Monterey, San Bernardino.

Yeah, I’m quite aware of that. Thank you.

CSULA is a Match, CSULB is not. I would also consider San Marcos and possibly Northridge along with the schools mentioned by @aunt bea.

@Gumbymom Thank you!

In addition to the non-impacted campuses, I’d look at Sac State, SF State, Sonoma - if you want to do Marine Bio, Humboldt is the place to be…

Note though, impacted campuses are very picky about their pre-reqs. Be sure you’ve checked all the boxes.

Good luck
