Chance me for cal poly slo, uc irvine, ucsb

UC/CSU GPA - 4.08 or 4.09

Weighted 10-12 a-g GPA - 4.18

ACT - 32 (Should I take it again?)

Do you guys want to know my extracurriculars? They’re about average.

Gender + Ethnicity: Asian male

Intended major: Informatics for irvine, business for cal poly, cs or business for ucsb

My freshmen year grades were kind of bad I guess; I only had two Bs in second semester and As in every other class both semesters. I don’t know if this will hurt my chances of getting into cal poly since they calculate GPA with freshmen year grades.

Anything else you guys want to know?

Thanks for helping.

UCs only look at sophomore and junior grades so your freshmen grades are irrelevant for UCs. You are a very competitive applicant for the UCs you’ve listed. Your ACT is also above above avergae for all of your colleges. Good luck!

Cal Poly SLO uses 9-11th grades, so recalculate your CSU/UC GPA plugging in Freshman grades.

Based on what you have posted for your stats, UC/CSU GPA is on target and your ACT within or above the average ranges.

UCI is a Match.

Depending upon how much your Freshman year impacts your CP GPA, you are a Match-High Match.

UCSB does not have a Business school or a Business major so you are planning to apply to Econ? It would be Match-High Match.

Make sure you have some safeties and a few more Match schools on your list.

Good Luck.

CP gpa is pretty much a 4.00 exactly and yeah I am considering applying for Econ major at sb but Cs is my main choice.

I have taken 7 APs and 2/3 honors classes so far from the end of 9th grade to this senior year. I also rank in the top 9% of my class, which I guess is not that high.

The majority of UC students were in the top 10% of the HS class and UC’s only consider rank for ELC eligibility. You are competitive applicant and as long as a you have a few more Match and at least one safety school, you should be fine.

Good Luck.

UCSB and UCI are probably high match or low reach with your GPA, but may be more difficult if your intended major is competitive (CS typically is).
