Good GPA, nice class rank, and good scores. But remember everyone else has those as well. Overall I believe you have a decent shot. There’s no obvious reason to deny you, but since its Columbia they’ll obviously be looking for something unique.

Hmm well, I am not very experienced with Columbia. However, with the little info I do have, I would say that you have a very good chance ED (50% ish). Your scores and grades are great for the school and your ECs are good enough as well.

I will give you a warning though. Last year, there was a kid from our school who was all together brilliant. She had a 36 on her ACT, a few presidencies, a 2250 on her SAT, and numerous state and national awards (like girls nation). She got flat out rejected from Columbia and had to “settle” for Dartmouth. So, always expect a rejection letter = D!

Strong you are, as an applicant to Columbia. Still a reach, but you are a good contender to get in, and it is always a crapshoot for guys like you. But I’d feel comfortable with a 40%+ chance of getting in, which is very good! Good luck to you.

thanks philipper =] i did. i have presidency of our 4th in nation math team. have 5 math team awards, scored perfect on all my math standardized tests, and have an amazing rec letter from my math coach/teacher.
