Hi,

I am a high school junior from Illinois. I plan to either go the PreMed route or major in engineering.

-30 Composite on my first real ACT (will most likely take once more).
34E
35M
25R
25S

-4.83/5 Unweighted GPA.

-Member of a community service group at my school that does service to better the community's elderly or poor.

-50+ community service hours (Tutoring, church work, soup kitchen, etc.)

-3 years of high school baseball

-1 year of high school football

-Mostly honors and AP courses

-Will have 5 AP classes by the time I graduate.

I think that it is very important that if you are interested in Davidson, that you attend one of their Davidson weekends, or whatever they call it.

My son had the grades and the test scores to get into Davidson, but wound up being waitlisted.

I suspect it was because he did not visit the school, or attend one of these weekends.

^^^Yes they come right out and say that they track interest. Be sure to contact the regional representative and see when in your area at local fairs. One met my daughter at coffee place. Definitely visit in person if you can. I don’t think they have an engineering program unless it’s one where you finish somewhere else, but strong pre-med/science.

We have a 3+2 engineering program. After your third year you would go to Columbia.
