I know Brown, Columbia and U of Chicago are DREAM schools (hence the title), but I want to apply to one of them for Early Decision/Early Action (Chicago).

BROWN:
I love Brown's open curriculm and the liberal atmosphere is a huge plus for me. I love the history and tradition of Brown and they are known for focusing primarily on undergrads, which is really important to me.

Columbia:
I am a writer and Columbia has a great writing program, plus it is in New York, which would be great for publishing/writing. I love the campus and I want to live in the city. However, Columbia does focus a lot on graduates and has a more of a cut-throat atmosphere.

U of Chicago:
I am going to apply there since Early Action says you can despite Early Decision committments, but how much of a reach is it for me? I love the creative atmosphere and the type of intellectual student that they look for there. All of their programs are solid and I want to be near the city too.

Columbia, Brown and Chicago are reach schools.
Apply and hope for the best.
Nobody can chance those colleges. They are reach schools unless you have hooks or major awards.

I’d say you have a 40% chance of getting into any of Chicago/Columbia/Brown during the EA/ED round, and a 20% chance during RD. Of course, this depends a lot on your essays and recommendation letters as well.
