As I’m freaking out about the upcoming ED results, my curiosity got the best of me and I had to make this post.
ACT: 35 (36 in Math and Reading, 34 in Science/Eng)
Subject tests: 770 in Math 2, 800 in Biology, 780 in US history, 750 in Chem (counselor recommended I send all)
School doesn’t do GPA, but I got the following off online calculator thing:
UW GPA: 3.83
W GPA: 4.19
School doesn’t rank, but most likely in top 10% at a small private school
AP Euro: 4
AP Chemistry: 4
AP Bio: 5
AP Language: 4
AP US: 5
Senior Year Course load:
AP CS
AB Calc
English
AP Chinese
Politics (history elective)
Painting and drawing (graduation requirement)
Activities:
-Model UN- head
-Literary magazine- head
-Assorted JV sports, captain of one JV team, one varsity sport (not good enough to play in college though)
-Decent amount of community service at school
-Investment club
-Robotics club
-Peer tutoring
Awards:
award from my school for work on model UN
national merit semi-finalist
ap scholar w distinction
Recs: AP US teacher- very good relationship, should be good
English teacher- also works with me on model UN, also should be very good
Counselor- not so sure on this one, we have a decent relationship but won’t be anything amazing
Essays:
Common app: Decent, nothing remarkable. Maybe a 7-8 / 10
Supplement: Similar (8/10). Both are very well-written and heavily edited, but neither will be mind blowing to Admissions
Other stuff:
No legacy
White male
From New England
Family is well-off (no financial aid needed, but no connections either)
In terms of my GPA, its gone up significantly since 9th grade (9th GPA was around 3.6, steadily increased to this year, where it was 4.21 unweighted in the first trimester)
I’m applying as an English major, but tried to spin myself as very well rounded. Thanks!
PS: Anyone know for certain when ED decisions come out? I’ve seen speculation on here for Dec 8 but the website and everywhere else says Dec 15.
