<p>I'm a senior so GPA is out of the running for any changes.
UW GPA: 3.59
weighted: 3.80
Class rank: 91 out of 497 (top 20%)
SAT is 1890 CR: 610, Math: 580, W: 700 (taking again), ACT is 26 (taking again).
AP Bio score is 3, expecting to take more AP tests by the end of this year </p>

<p>ECs:
I have been captain and vice president of debate which I've been a part of for four years, I was a state qualifier for Congressional Debate for two years, finalist for one of them, National alternate in Congress and International Extemporaneous. In DECA, I went to State and placed 2nd in Restaurant and Food Service Management and went to Internationals, I went to state in Mock Trial, I am in Student Council as a representative. I'm a quiz bowl captain I have done Model UN with the University of Chicago for two years including this year, I have volunteer hours, and I have a published essay on the topic of racism and inclusion in the International Journal of Critical Pedagogy. Expecting to get a letter of rec from a federal judge.</p>

<p>Do you think the letter of rec would positively bolster my application or make it look really superficial? I actually know the guy and stuff, but sometimes colleges think that when you have someone of authority write a LoR, you’re trying to give your application more weight than it deserves.</p>

<p>IU is my safety school. USC is my dream school. BU, NYU and UCSB are the next greatest. American is also a safety most likely.</p>

<p>How is USC a low reach for me? I always felt it as a high reach? What stands out?</p>

<p>Your SAT and ACT scores probably need to be improved (2100+ SAT or 33+ for USC and NYU. Your GPA probably might go against you as well for those two schools. Your extracurriculars are good. Just take some more AP’s and you should seem to be on track for the rest of the schools you’re interested in.
