Other

State (if domestic applicant): PA (Western)
Country (if international applicant): n/a
Intended major(s): Neuroscience and Cognitive Science, minors in history of science/tech, and psychology
School Type: Public
Ethnicity: White
Gender: Female
Income Bracket: $85,000ish
Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): First generation, HOBY(?), female in STEM(?)

I don’t think white female in STEM is that big of a hook unless its Engineering or Computer Science. Only deficiency is test scores.

Obviously your test scores are a bit lower for Hopkins, but you have so much else going for you! Remember that admissions is holistic, so in my opinion you still have a solid chance of getting in. Still, it’s so competitive, so of course make sure you have a backup plan and other schools you love. I’m in the same boat for Brown–I applied ED with a 1420 (700M, 720CR) which is pretty low for Brown but like you I’m hoping other parts of my app can make up for it. No one can really predict your chances, but I think you have a shot of getting in. Decisions will be out soon anyway–good luck to you :).
