chance me for liberal arts + brown and yale

i would really appreciate opinions on my prospects at these schools! specifically the LACs, because with ivies everyone is a crapshoot, i know.

top 10% of class

a note about my school that explains the ridiculous arts credits:
so basically i go to a performing and visual arts school. it's public but it's audition only, so half of my day is spent in an art studio (i'm in the visual art dept.). those credits are only worth 4 points and i have to take them.

SAT
2270 for SATI
SATII:
750 us history
740 lit (i'm probably going to retake this one and also take the physics test)

african wildlife and texas wildlife (giving tours, talks to camps and boyscouts, etc)

continue it this year and expand to two editions.

- was accepted to/attended the university of iowa young writer's workshop summer 2011 for poetry
- working on girl scout gold award (equivalent of eagle scout), which includes a class i'll be teaching after school this coming semester twice a week to elementary school kids for art and poetry, and we'll end up producing a mini literary magazine/art magazine of their work that they can have (will complete hopefully by december)

OTHER
- essays should be great, writing is my biggest strength academically
- i'm going to have an awesome art supplement because of my school. i have a
sophisticated/conceptually solid portfolio

also ivies love my school because it's, i don't know, ~different~, so they are aware of the wonky scheduling and are fine with it. they like the creativity and individuality generally. harvard always comes and talks to us.

also the top kids in my class are all musicians and are planning to attend conservatories or school in texas. as far as i know i'm the top ranked student who is applying to ivies.

i plan on studying english or comp lit or creative writing. or gender. or philosophy. what i'm saying is i don't know what i'm going to study, but it will certainly pertain to writing in some form. also i'll be taking some ecology and art courses in college. i'm planning on applying as an undecided major. i think?

anyway,
thanks for reading/chancing!

Hey, thanks for reading my thread. I think you sound like a really cool and interesting person with very diverse interests. I wouldn’t worry about the C in PE, a lot of schools will recalculate GPAs without classes like that. Your grades are awesome, your test scores are great, and your commitment to volunteering is remarkable. Your other ECs aren’t as impressive, but I think you’ll make a great candidate.

Obviously, I can’t really tell you anything you don’t know about Brown, Yale, Columbia, Penn, and UChicago; they’re tough schools to get into, but I think you’ve got a great shot, especially at UChicago and Brown.

I would not be surprised if you got into all of your other schools, except maybe Pomona and Vassar (I see those as your biggest reaches, LAC-wise).

Good luck!

agh thank you. i really appreciate the response!

bumpity bump bump bump.

bump please? also, the breakdown on my SAT was cr-750 m-730 w-790
