Chance me for McCombs?

Here are my stats, I know they're not as good as an average CC member on here.

-My ACT is terrible, it's a 26 and I know the average is a 30 but I'm terrible at grammar so it brought my composite down

-Rank: 26/697, auto admit

-Taking all the AP classes possible

-GPA: 3.79

-I was treasurer of HOSA, VP of Peace in the Middle of East, and currently president of BPA, business professionals of America

-I placed 1st in 3 BPA competitions last year and 1st place in a HOSA competition sophomore year both for area/regionals and state. I was also student of the year my sophomore year, if that helps with my chances at all

-I had many extra curricular activities/volunteer hours but my main thing was a non paid internship at a hospital and an IT firm. Plus I have a part time job right now.

I'm also classified as Asian and I know the admissions process is harder for this ethnicity. I sent in a extended resume and recommendation, plus I applied the early deadline for BHP because I hear they see your application first before the majority apply.

Your chances to get into BHP are near zero with that test score. For McCombs, that low test score also puts you in danger. Your rank and resume seems to be decent, but they will also look at your transcript. Retest in November and at least pull up to an ACT of a 29 and you may have a chance.

@classof14hs Did you get in? I’ve been on the UT Austin thread for a while seeing what stats people have when they get accepted.

@TheAvidSeeker the original poster is likely not active any longer. His last post was Nov. 2015 and this thread is nearly 3 years old. However, clicking in the OP’s name and reading through his replies, yes, this student got into McCombs in February 2014 and did not ever make a 30 on his ACT.

It is not looked upon with a kind eye by the mods on CC to resurect really old threads. They keep them online for information so take this info for what it is worth and let’s not keep responding on it.
