I am applying to these colleges:-
MIT,Stanford,Caltech,UC-berkeley,Carnegie mellon,Stanford,UVA,VT,Georgia Tech.

applying for financial aid will significantly lower your chances at some schools since they do not like to give financial aid to international applicants. are you a senior this year?
Your EC’s are good, what’s your unweighted gpa?

International. Low English SAT scores. Low subject test scores. No major achievements. Community Service does not show commitment. Needs Financial Aid!

UC and Georgia Tech are not giving aid for intl at all.
Caltech gives “limited” and as I checked, is “very limited”
others probably like that, I don’t remember now, but I’ve done some research, and if you’re not perfect, chances of getting aid are small.

Retaking SAT II is a good idea.

I don’t know how they’ll approach to your SAT I scores, because you lived in U.S. 1,5 y.

I’m just wondering how my scores are going to look in jan. I just started C1 level. LOL I am upper intermediate in English and wanna take SAT :P

"Stanford has a limited amount of financial aid for international students. If you plan to apply for financial aid, you need to indicate this on your admission application. "

honestly the one thing that would improve your chances more than anything is getting both ur reading and writing scores over 650. you EC’s and other info seem excellent but standardized testing is killing you man.

Yeah, sorry man. Your chances at MIT/Stanford/Caltech are pretty grim. Your standardized test scores/ international status applying for aid really hurt you there. Take the SATI again.

Yea, your chances as international at those Ivy-Caliber colleges will be extremely slim at best. I heard MIT accepts like three percent of its International Applicants. If you are looking at even a mildly competitive application for international students for MIT, Im thinking 2200 SAT +, with 750+ Math, great essays that show that you have good control over English, and maybe a 105-110+ TOEFL. SAT Subject tests should total probably over 2200-2250, with decent Extracurriculars. I see that your math is up to par, your TOEFL is a toe in, and your English quite frankly just doesn’t make it, at least on the SAT.

I think Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech will be good matches for you, but I’m not sure about scholarship/ financial aid. Set Carnegie Mellon and UVA as reach schools, because in the end, international applicants are competitive. Like Fiona said, you might reconsider applying to Ivy League schools unless you are SURE that you have a gigantic hook/ Super essay.

So, all in all, I think you might want to set your bar a little lower, but good luck on your schools!
