I forgot to add:

The bolded ECs are my principal ECs, as in, I spend a lot of time on them.

Some additional criteria taken from http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/451582-how-improve-chances-chances-threads-2.html</a> :
Class Rank - It hasn’t been released yet, but I’m sure I’m in the top 20% out of 500 kids.
Senior Year Course Load: AP Biology, AP Lang & Comp, AP Calculus AB, String Orchestra II (skipping I), Latin IV
Talent - I am talented at volleyball or so I’d like to think. Or is that an EC?

Level of interest - Stanford, as I said before, is my TOP choice. it’s got volleyball, it’s got a great liberal education, its got an overseas campus in KYOTO, Japan, it’s got California sun.

Strengths: SAT Scores, Classes, Hooks, My essays (I am a persuasive essay writer)
Weaknesses: (possibly) Class Rank, GPA, ECs

very strong candidate. to be honest, just dont screw anything up, keep up this work and you have a great shot at stanford. 800 CR is very impressive :)

you will have a strong application if you have good essays and recommendations… just make sure you don’t say you are a URM on it (that would look very bad). … keep in mind your reaches have very low acceptance rates… the one thing I would do to improve it is to raise your SAT score… a 2100 is slightly at Stanford, but not impossible.

You’re black, so you have a solid chance.

thanks NW, myth, dave.

Myth - cool advice, thanks!

its a bit shrewd but because you are African American with good grade, you have a great chance of being accepted to all the schools are you applying to.
