Chance me for near Ivies. I'll love you long time.

Here are the vitals:

3.91 GPA

22nd out of 471 (Top 5%)

ACT 33 (will retake)
SAT 2090 (will retake)
PSAT 215 (why i'm retaking SAT)
SAT II will take in fall

AP's
took 4 last year.
taking 5 next year.
no scores yet.

Hopefully starting a Robotics club/team next year
Academic Decathlon Team
Jazz Band-got into the top jazz band (this is a big deal @ my school)
Played Lacrosse during 9th, 10th and 12th.
Elected Senior Class Officer-Treasurer
Writers' Club (did photography for their publication, never actually wrote lol)
Marching Band, Concert Band, Show Choir accompaniment band

Here are the schools...I'm going to study Engineering.
Rice
Vanderbilt
Washington U
Northwestern
Carnegie Mellon
USC
Cornell
Columbia

bump…

ACT is much better than SAT, so I would say to just work on that one (you don’t need multiple scores from both). Columbia and Cornell are reaches, but you have really good grades so I think you have a pretty good shot at the others.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/735911-chance-georgia-peach-stanford-other-top-schools-i-chance-back.html thanks!

If possible try and get your GPA and Scores up but you do have a very strong courseload. You should be in most places or have a good shot at the others like Wash U, Cornell, and Columbia.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/735431-chances-washu-cornell-penn.html

Rice-not sure
Vanderbilt-reach
Washington U-reach
Northwestern-low reach
Carnegie Mellon-low reach
USC-reach
Cornell-reach
Columbia-low reach
try getting sat 2200+ and u wiil have higher chance at more colleges

I chanced back the two of you who posted links in your replies. Thanks.

I am hoping to get a 2200+ on the SAT…but I also suddenly got a craving for a 35/36 ACT. I’m not sure if I can handle both haha. I’m thinking the super high ACT will make up for a lower SAT, but I need at least 2150 to be eligible for National Merit Finalist :(

This is another bump.

and another bump

and another bump.

I chance back, by the way. Just post a link in your reply.

you definitely need to boost your sat scores and extracurriculars. perhaps devote your summer to this?

Rice: low reach
Vanderbilt: low reach
Washington U: high reach
Northwestern: high reach
Carnegie Mellon: mid reach
USC: match
Cornell: mid reach
Columbia: high reach

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/735819-i-cant-believe-im-actually-doing-but.html

I would definitely submit ACT score, unless you can break into the 2200’s on the SAT.

Rice - high match
Vanderbilt - low reach
Washington U - reach
Northwestern - high match
Carnegie Mellon - match
USC - match
Cornell - low reach
Columbia - reach

Ivies are pretty much reaches for everyone.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/732998-please-chance-me.html

Chance back?

i would agree with luke23 except Columbia i would say high reach. your ec’s academics are very very good, but ivies (as we all know) are looking for some over the top, surreal amazing academic/social excellence. so keep it up, and if you can find/exploit/own your niche (maybe music?) and convey it in the application, you can make those high reaches/high matches ----> reaches/matches
chance back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/735826-mit-stanford-hopkins-chance-will-chance-back-promise.html

well you definitely couldnt get into harvard but all the schools you listed look like very good matches so you should get into AT LEAST half of them but probably more, the key for those top schools is the essays and recs so spend lots of time on those but youre probably good

chance me back at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/735932-chance-me-i-will-chance-back.html

Your GPA/SAT scores are only average, with your SAT scores definitely being a bit on the low side…your ECs are good but nothing really jumps out. Do you have a passion? Something you’ve earned state/local/ntnl awards in, etc? Anyways, here are my predictions…

Rice - low reach
Vanderbilt - low reach
Washington U - reach
Northwestern - mid reach
Carnegie Mellon - reach
USC - in
Cornell - low reach
Columbia - reach

chance me back if you have time? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/736548-chance-me-top-schools-ivies.html
