Chance me for Princeton, Cornell, UC's, Carnegie, and more!

Something important to note is that I’ve been homeschooled since the second semester of my freshman year. My parent’s jobs required them to travel a lot (every week for several days), and there was no way that I could be enrolled in school. When I turned 17 and was allowed to stay at home alone (days by myself), I was able to get some things done.

Class rank:
1 out of 1 (:P)
GPA:
Unweighted: 3.92
Weighted: I’m not entirely sure, but I believe it’s a 4.33 (?). Again, I’m not entirely sure but I think I calculated it out to that not too long ago.

ACT: 29 (29 English, 27 Math, 28 Reading, 31 Science 8 writing)

SAT: 2210 (M – 760, CR – 710, Writing – 740, 10 on essay)

SAT Subject Scores: I took Chemistry and Math 1 about a year and a half ago and did horrible (I didn’t study and really didn’t try, it’s my own fault). I retook Chemistry and took Math II, though.
Chemistry – 800; Math II - 760

College transcript:
GPA: 3.4.
Psychology – B
Chemistry I – B (No ‘+’ grades were given, otherwise it would’ve been a B+. I got an A for the lab portion of the course, but I’m not sure if that appears on my transcript)
World Civilizations I – B
World Civilizations II – A
Macroeconomics – B+
English I – A
English II – B+

Something I should definitely mention because it’s on my transcript, is that I’ve had to retake 3 classes: English I and II (C+ and a C were the original grades) and Chemistry I (F was my original grade). I feel like out of everything, this may weigh me down the most. Also, I took Calculus one summer but withdrew (“W” mark on my transcript) due to taking too many classes.

I’m not going to make a bunch of excuses, I messed up and I paid for it. I retook the three classes and managed to get an A, B+, and a B. I could’ve gotten all A’s if I worked harder, but I took all 3 in the summertime and had a lab to go along with it.
Moving forward.
A few exceptional classes (as part of my HS curriculum) that I’ve taken: Calculus I, II, Microbiology, Human Physiology, and Russian (in addition to Latin, but Russian’s a more interesting language).

Extracurricular activities:
- I’ve had a job for about two years now.
- Civil Air Patrol: I was in for about a year and then quit. I had school, traveling with my parents, and had recently gotten a job (a flexible one). I no longer wanted to be in the military, so I figured I would rather have the money.
- Ice Hockey: Two years or so.
- Volunteered for the current governor’s (of my state) political campaign (logged in quite a few hours and attended his induction).
- Internships: I’ve had two internships, one at an engineering firm, and the other at a medical consultant company (mainly dealt with HIPPA and OSHA). One has been only this year (medical thing), the other has been for this and last year (engineering firm). I also feel that it’s important to mention that I also participated in some research while interning at the engineering firm.
- Volunteer service: I’ve volunteered for a local food shelter, hospital, and I took care of an elderly woman (she was 102, so I think this is kind of exceptional).
- Travel: I’ve been told not to focus much on this, but I feel like I should at least mention it. I’ve been to over 21 countries. Almost all of North America and several places in Europe (12 countries or so), including Greenland and Iceland.

Letters of recommendation:
-My mom. It sounds funny, I know, but some schools require it when you’re homeschooled.
-A mentor/close family friend. She has a lot of degrees, like two masters and a Ph. D., and she’s not even 30.
-Another mentor/close family/personal friend. He’s a retired prominent military figure who spent over 40 years in the U.S. Army (1967-2007).

Extra: I’m also 19. I’m not sure if this hurts me or not.

Applying to:
NYU-Poly
UCSD (OOS)
UC Berkeley (OOS)
Cornell
UPitt
Princeton
Carnegie Mellon ED II

Anyways, I’ll chance back if you chance me, just leave your link below. Any advice or information is appreciated. I’m also open to college suggestions. Thanks!

I think you should be in at NYU-POLY, Match at UPitt, low reach for UCSD, and reach for the rest.

But dont be discouraged because those are reaches for pretty much everyone. Write great essays and I think you should get into CMU, but thats just my two cents

Princeton - reach

Berkeley - low reach
Cornell - low reach

UCSD - match

Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it. And @ Dinomite: I’m planning on writing some pretty good essays, but thanks for letting me know that. And I’m not discouraged, I picked some pretty big universities, I figured there would be some reaches :p.

Bumping. Remember, I chance back.
