I've been homeschooled since the second semester of my freshman year. My parent's jobs require them to travel a lot. I'm also taking a year off, so ya. I'm applying this year for school next years, even though I graduated this year.

GPA:
Unweighted: 3.92
Weighted: Not sure, I took some college classes at my local community college and got 2 A's, 2 B+'s, and 3 B's and have a 3.4 GPA.

ACT: 29 (29 English, 27 Math, 28 Reading, 31 Science, 8 Writing)
SAT I: 1800. It would've been higher (around a 2000), but I made a mistake while bubbling in some answers. This was my first time taking it and I didn't get a chance to study due to being over seas. I plan on taking it again, hopefully scoring a 2000-2150.

Chance me based on my ACT scores, but also let me know how much better my chances would be if I scored a 2100 on the SAT.

SAT II: Currently waiting on scores for Chemistry and Math II. I don't feel too confident about my Chemistry score, Math II might be alright. I don't think that they'll be good enough to send in, so I'll only send them in to the schools that absolutely require them. For the sake of chancing me, assume that at the worst I scored a 600 on the Chemistry and 650 on the Math II.

*Note that I'm not planning on sending the SAT II scores to any of the UC's.

Pretty rigorous high school curriculum. I ended up getting credit for 7 college classes (Psychology, Chemistry I, World Civ I & II, Macroecon, and English I & II; grades are above in GPA section), but I had to retake a couple classes (scheduling conflict with my parents caused me to miss some tests.

Extracurricular activities:
-I've had a job from the end of 2010 to the end of 2011 and now ever since this past month.
-Civil Air Patrol: I was in for about a year and then quit. Too busy of a schedule
-A couple of internships, one at an engineering firm (which also included research), and the other at a medical consultant company (deals with OSHA, teaching, etc)
-Travel: I've been told not to focus on this, but I feel that I should at least mention it. I've been to most of North America (including Panama) and several countries in Europe (12, and some multiple times).

Vounteer service:
- Local food shelter
- Current governor's (of my state) political campaign (logged in quite a few hours and attended his induction)
- Helped take care of an elderly woman (she was 102 when she died this year, so I think that this was kind of exceptional).

Letters of recommendation:
Pretty glowing, actually.
- My mom. It sounds funny, but some schools require it when you're homeschooled.
- A mentor/close family friend. She has several degrees, like two masters and a Ph. D., and she's not even 30.
- Another mentor/close family/personal friend. He's a retired prominent military figure who spent over 40 years in the military (1967-2008) with several medals (purple heart, silver star, but I don't think that the college will have any way of knowing?)

I'm out of state for all of these, so bear that in mind.

Applying to:

NYU-Poly
UCSD
UC Berkeley
UCSB
UCSC
UCI
UCD
UPitt
Cornell
Princeton
Carnegie Mellon ED II

The last three I already have a pretty good idea of my chances (especially Princeton), but my mom wants me to apply anyways.

Feel free to add any suggestions, and remember, I chance back if you leave me your thread link.
