here are my stats for my sophomore transfer, fall 09:

School: Santa Monica College (cali comm. college), in my first semester
HS GPA: 3.9 weighted
SAT: 1940 (should I retake it?)
College GPA: 4.0
In the Scholars program, so I take hard classes.
Work: I work part time at a retail clothing store.
Extracurriculars:
-Commissioner to the Director of Budget Management in the Associated Students (aka Finance Committee Secretary)
-Member in Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society (community service)
-Vice President of a new English club (just started)

Major: Business, Econ, Int'l Relations
(somewhere around that region)

think I got a shot at UPenn, Columbia, and NYU? How about stanford?

Do I understand correctly that you're a freshman now and want to transfer next fall? If so, your HS record and test scores will be weighted more than what you've done in college since you'll only have completed 1 sem/qt by the time you apply.

Where were you accepted as a freshman, did you get into some selective schools but not attend for some reason? If not, it is less likely that you will be able to transfer 'up' from a CC to an Ivy or similar schools after just one year.

I agree that your SAT is very low for those colleges.

Your SAT is well below average. What was your unweighted HS GPA? Are you applying to Penn SAS or Wharton? To which school in NYU are you applying?
