well… usually applicants for UCLA, UCB, and Stanford are well past where you stand in your math classes. That’s the only major thing I see. I find that during junior year, most students are in Calculus BC that go to Stanford – not Algebra II.

Yeah, I understand with my math situation. I have several friends who are right now in the Ivies and Berkeley/Stanford who took Calc A/B or B/C their Junior (and maybe) their Senior years. I’m not one to point fingers, but it is definitely not my fault. I took Algebra I in 7th grade in a small middle school where everyone took it; but, almost everyone (expect me, who ended with an A) got C’s and D’s in the class and scored Average or even below that on STAR testing. Consequently, my school made everyone retake it (all 30 people in my grade). I mean, my parents thought it wasn’t fitting for me to self-study Geometry; It also wasn’t such a big deal in my eyes, Calculus in 11th or 12th grade, I didn’t really think it mattered. Anyways, when I got to high school with Algebra I under my belt, it was a requirement that all Freshman take Integrated Math I at my school (a mix of Algebra I and Geometry). So, I took it. After the first semester (finishing Algebra I, again), I moved, therefore I switched schools. My counselor put me in 2nd semester Algebra I because she thought it wasn’t fitting to let me skip a semester and place me in Geometry… Anyways, that’s three times. I think my SAT Math section (770) shows that I’m pretty knowledgeable when it comes to math.
