Chance me for UC Davis and UCSD?

4.0 weighted
3.83 UC GPA
3.57 unweighted

SAT score = 2240
SAT II = 740 in World hist, 730 in US hist
5's on all my ap exams so far (except a 4 in bio T.T)

Worked for 2 years at a tutoring center
Played violin for 8 years
Earned a taekwondo black belt when I was 12
Did a biology internship at a state college over the summer
Volunteered 100+ hrs at a middle school program

I didn't do much sports or clubs in high school though...
I joined a business club for a year but didn't make it past state.
There was also a volunteer club I was part of for 2 years

Your SAT is competitive but your UC GPA is a little light. UC’s are very GPA focused.

UCSD: Low Reach
UCD: High Match

Your unweighted GPA is a little low but your SAT is very strong. Playing violin for 8 years takes a lot of time and commitment and I think admissions counselors will notice that. Do you have any other E.C’s you can list? A lot of people forget to put noteworthy ones down. I don’t know much about these schools but overall you sound well rounded! I think you have great chances on being admitted!

Thanks for your input guys!

I’d say match for Davis but it’d be a toss up for SD just because uc’s tend to care a lot about gpa
Good luck!

GPA will affect your chances at UCSD. you should be okay for DAVIS.
